Friedrich Wieneke was a cathedral pastor in Soldin, a member of the Christian-German Movement, one of the leaders of the pro-Nazi German Christian movement, and a member of the Nazi Party, which he joined in 1929.

Quote

  • “We are exhorted by the cross, by the law of Christ, to bear one another's burdens (Gal. 6:2). It is this law, after all, which is the source of that true socialism that sums up Hitler’s program in the words: ‘The public interest comes before private interest’”, Friedrich Wieneke, Deutsche Theologie im Umriss, 1933.
  • “The theology of the German Christians is by its nature the work of the eternal Father. The differences between races are willed by him. A human being may never set his political commitments above the guidelines the Almighty has established. Even though the creation is fallen, God still permits us to perceive the traces of his plan again and ever again. For us German Christians this generates a new theological attitude vis-à-vis history, according to which Christ functions as the eternal King of truth who embraced the cross as the sign of militant heroism and a joyful willingness to sacrifice himself.”, Friedrich Wieneke.
